It's official: Meghan Trainor is headed to the American Music Awards stage -- and so is Luke Bryan!
Trainor
and Bryan are both up for several awards at this year's ceremony,
including the coveted Artist of the Year honor, and now ET can
exclusively confirm that they'll each perform.
Trainor will sing a special medley of her brand new single, "Like I'm Gonna Lose You," before she's joined onstage by Charlie Puth for their duet, "Marvin Gaye." Separately, Bryan will debut his new single, "Home Alone Tonight," alongside Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild.
Trainor hinted at the performance during a recent sit-down interview with ET.
"It's
still a shock," she said on Oct. 20 of her multiple nominations. "I
still just signed up! I still just got here! And I thought, especially
because of [vocal cord] surgery, I've been gone, I've been home
chilling. I figured [with] the award shows -- I'm not even gonna go to
this year. But I'm there, I'm nominated. I'm gonna perform, hopefully."
Jennifer Lopez
has also been tapped to perform and host the ceremony this year, airing
live on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The show will mark a bit
of a reunion between Trainor and Lopez, who previously offered up some
sage advice to the newcomer. The pair met at the AMAs in 2014.
"I was star struck the whole time," Trainor previously told ET. "I told her Selena the
movie was the reason I wanted to become a singer, and then I asked her a
bunch of questions like how do you have boyfriends in this industry?"
Lopez's response: "Be very picky."
Additional
performers at the AMAs include 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez, Nick
Jonas, Demi Lovato, One Direction, Carrie Underwood and Walk the Moon.
